This girl is totally devoted to losing weight and it's pretty scary. I think I'll never go to that extent! (Hmm but then again who knows?) Check out what she've posted:
One strawberry at a time
Is it true that only thin or slim girls are desirable? Or is it so because all the fashion magazines are full of pictures of those skinny models? Or is it that the pretty girls all happened to be thin? Then if it is so, what makes a girl pretty?
I am definitely not of the skinny frame but well, had learnt to live with it because it's to do with my genetic makeup more than anything. Over the years I had, however, been "socialised" to feel that being of the medium frame is already considered as overweight and that the only acceptable size is the typically skinny girl (Read 30-24-32).
There is nothing wrong thinking that being thin is beautiful but there's definitely something terribly wrong with those who ostracize girls who are not of the "right size". Anyway in the first place, what is the "right size"?
Yes I've been *depressed* for not being thin enough according to the societal standards, not looking good in photographs or being able to fit in that tiny dress. And it doesn't help that most of my friends are *tiny*.
I guessed at the end of the day all of us would finally realise that it doesn't matter if we can't fit into that tiny dress because we can look good in something else, so why force yourself to fit into something that you would look terrible in? Clothes are supposed to fit you, not the other way round!
Notice that I only refer to "girls" because I somewhat feel that guys have a part to play for this unhealthy phenomenon too. I shall not go into that since I am not exactly a feminist!
Hmm amazing how sensible I can sound when I'm not pmsing!
