The teaching stint is finally over! Actually I enjoyed myself but it was quite exhausting to chase after screaming kids for so many consecutive days. Now I just have to wait for my pay day! Haha!
Anyway I'm quite upset about not being able to find a companion to go Bangkok with me! So which means no BKK for me this holiday! I must try to go during the mid-term break then! I badly need a holiday! But well, I'll be going for a climbing trip at malaysia from 20th to 22nd. And in case you're wondering, that is of no consolation to me. I cannot imagine that I agree to allow myself to be vulnerable to mosquitoes, fatigue and dirt, but I have to go cos its a pre-departure team bonding trip! So well! I'll make sure I have enough supplies of wet tissues and insect repellent!
Meanwhile, I am actually trying to work on my testimonial. As a normal practice, I got my lecturers to write for me. However, before they can do that, I actually need to draft one myself, so that they can know what to write about. Hmm. In short, I have to pretend to be my lecturer and write about myself. So! I do not have much experience writing testimonials so I'm feeling all jittery now - just how to write to make it sound good and impressive, but not boastful.
How to say "She is not afraid to venture new horizons!" - when in actual fact I worry about being alone in a foreign land?
How to talk about "academic achievements" when I have never gotten any book prize (except for essay writing competitions - in chinese!)?
So.. how to master the art of writing about myself?
And for the record, I have not gone to get any materials for Christmas cards and the gifts.. so expect a belated one okie!
Haha!
