I spent the wee hours of Vesak Day morning dancing to
Square rooms and
Summer Rain.. enjoyed myself tremendously! So much that I had to be dragged out cos I didn't want to leave! (No) thanks to the fantastic line up! By the time I went to bed was 6am in the morning!
So yup, what triggered this post despite the fatigue (from all the late nights - movie, dinners, partying.. not that I'm complaining) is reading articles after articles about the Sichuan Earthquake. Its been a terrible week (I first knew about it watching CNN at gym.. yes I finally made it to the gym after like 2 months?) . News about entire town being levelled, countless missing, injured or dead is pretty saddening.
Talk about the fragility of human life. I mean if you are destinated to die, even if you hide at home, you'll not escape your fate. And the scariest part is that we would never know when the party would stop.
If life is that unpredictable and unexpected, why waste your days on unnecessary heartaches and headaches? Some people are just not worth our time.
Instead, really stick to the motto of
living each and everyday as if its your last (procrastinating work is perfectly acceptable because you wouldn't want to spend your last living day at work right?!)
So if you have this intense craving for that chocolate cake, just go eat it. You can always diet!
If you have been wanting to go for that trip, screw the balance sheet, just go for it.
If there's someone whom you had been dying to speak to, approach him/her!
Take charge of your life, let go of things that are beyond our control, do your part for the less fortunate and always show your love.
When we close our eyes, there are many things that we can't bring with us, so what do you want to be remembered for?
When the party stops, do you think you can really get a second shot in life?
So yes, don't be afraid to live life on your own terms.
